Change Your Mind Change Your Life
The first thing you will need to change is your beliefs about what you can or cannot accomplish. I’m not only talking about money here. I’m talking about anything and everything that is important to you. If you want a wonderful relationship, then you must first believe that it’s possible. If you want a successful career, then you must first believe that it’s within your reach. Belief is a powerful thing, so powerful that if you believe you were meant to live a mediocre life, then that fate will be set in stone, at least in your mind.
So how do you change your belief about what is possible? The first thing you need to do is understand what a belief is. A belief is simply a feeling of certainty. When you believe something, you are certain that it is true. When you don’t believe something, you are certain that it’s not true or you’re uncertain that it’s true. Understanding this will help you realize that whether you think something is possible or impossible doesn’t necessarily depend on reality. It all depends on what you perceive as reality.
There was story about a bright student who took an intelligence test. Upon seeing his score, he was shocked to find out how low his score was. This caused him to believe that he was not a bright student and that he was incapable of doing well in school even though he has always been an A student. After this teacher saw a huge drop in his grades, he had a talk with him to see what was going on. It turned out, the student misinterpreted the score. Not only did he actually have a high score, it was one of the highest scores in the nation. Upon learning this, his grades immediate shot back up again.
The point of the story is to show you how powerful a belief can be. You can either use it to destroy your life or use it to propel yourself to new heights.
How to Change Your Life
So how can you use this to change your life? What you need to do is to find ways to increase your belief of what is possible for yourself. You can do this in several ways. The first way is to start reading positive books and listening to positive audio programs. In essence what you are doing is brainwashing yourself into believing you are capable of a better life. This may sound like a bad thing but it’s not.
If you believe that you are mediocre and that your life will never amount to anything, then trust me, you were brainwashed. What you need to do is reverse that effect by feeding your mind with words of encouragement and empowerment. When you constantly do this, you will eventually start to believe more and more in yourself and what you are truly capable of accomplishing in your life.

Once you start believing that you are capable of doing far more with your life than you have shown up until this point, you will start to take a new set of actions. To do this, you must first know your outcome. This means you need to set new goals. When the belief that you have in yourself is low, you will tend to set low and uninspiring goals. These are goals that you may not even bother working towards since they don’t inspire you. Even if you do achieve them, you won’t be all that thrilled.
When the belief you have in yourself gets stronger, you will start to set the goals you really want to achieve. These are the inspiring goals that will help change your life even if you don’t reach them. You see, the biggest benefit in setting and working on your goals isn’t obtaining them. The biggest benefit you will get is the skills, knowledge, and new habits you pick up along the way. It’s what the pursuit of the goal will make of you that’s important.
Change Your Fate, Change Your Life
So in conclusion, to change your life, you need to first change your beliefs of what is possible for you. Start surrounding yourself with people who are more successful and happier than you are. Their mentality and habits will start to rub off on you. You will start thinking differently. Change your thoughts change your life.
How long does it take to change your life? Can you change your life in seven days? How about a month? The answer is your life will change the second you start doing things you have never done before. Every action you take is a cause set in motion that will literally change the current path that you are on and will therefore change your destiny. You can control your fate by changing the decisions you make and the actions you take. The power to believe in yourself is the power to change your fate and to change your life.

“What do you mean when it’s time to give up? I will NEVER give up!” Slow down there Rocky. Although I am a big believer and practitioner of the whole never give up motto, there will come a time in your life when it would be better to just give up. Ignorance is the person who keeps going and going and does not know when to stop even when what he is doing is completely wrong for him.
Are you considered a quitter when you give up? That depends on what you are giving up on. Now I’m not talking about quitting a bad habit, I’m actually talking about quitting your pursuit of a goal. I’m sure you have been told that in order to become successful, you must persevere, fight, stand up whenever you fall, and march forward until the end. I say those things to people all the time, so why am I telling you now that sometimes it is actually better to quit? The reason is because in certain cases, you could only go forward if you go back.
Sometimes you will be putting a lot of time and effort in achieving a goal to find out one day that your strategy is totally wrong. You could be achieving the same results in half the time had you been focusing on doing the more important things.
Let’s say your goal was to lose weight. You then set a goal to do 1000 sit up a day. After about 1 month of doing this, you realize that you have been disciplined enough to hit your goal of 1000 sit ups a day, however, you aren’t getting any closer to your main goal of losing weight. This is called focusing on a secondary goal, which sometimes is the wrong strategy.
We sometimes get so focused on a secondary goal that we lose focus on the primary goal. I see this with sales people all the time. Their main goal is to make money but they often find their focus on hitting some new position within the sales department and when that doesn’t happen, they feel like a big failure. The goal never was to hit some position; the goal was to make money whether with this company or another company.
Would it make sense, in this case, for a sales person to quit the job if his goal of making a certain amount of money just wasn’t happening? His managers would probably call him a quitter, but his goal is to make money. If he can obtain that goal through a different source, then quitting would actually be the smart thing to do.
So when is it time to give up? When what you are doing no longer makes sense in respects to achieving your main goal. Sometimes it will make more sense to give up what you are doing and start on a different path towards the same goal.
Some people will spend their entire lives on a path to a certain goal only to find out in the end that the path they took was the wrong one. There is no shame in giving up on a path you are taking to your goal as long as you always aim to reach your goal. There’s no point in staying on a path that will lead you to nowhere.

If you want to get from point A to point B, something needs to move. With all of the formulas, methods, ideas, and strategies of success that you can pick up, none of it will change your life until you put what you learn into action. Action is the key to success, at least partially.
The fact is that anyone can take action. How many people do you know can get themselves to the gym in the month of January? Seeing that so many people set losing weight as a new year’s resolution, you probably know at least several. However, it’s not taking action once in a while or whenever you feel like it that will change your life, it’s taking action consistently, day in, day out, whether you feel like it or not.
If you break it down, most goals are easy to achieve. You just have to perform certain tasks long enough to achieve your desired outcome. The challenge for most people however, is in being consistent. Challenges, obstacles, setbacks, these things cause most people to feel discouraged and as a result, they stop taking action because in their minds, they don’t see the point. They lose their motivation.
If you want to increase your ability to take consistent action, here’s the key: Make your actions a habit. The more you consistently perform a task, the easier it will become. The challenge though is that in the beginning, it will all be about your level of motivation and will power.
You need to do what it takes to keep taking action. This is critical because if you stop, it will be very easy to just quit on your goal for the time being all together and wait for the “perfect time” to start over again. If you continue taking action even when it’s hard, even when the results don’t seem to justify continuing the effort, eventually, you’ll hit a point where the struggle will start to ease, a point where motivation and will power is no longer needed.
When you reach this point, you’ll see how some people can make being successful look so darn easy. You’ll also understand why consistency is so important. Will it be easy to reach the point of habitual action? It depends on your goals but in general, it’s going to feel like an uphill battle at first but once you reach that breaking point, it’ll be just a matter of time before you reach your goal.
Trigger Technique
One technique I found to be useful is to attach the action to something you already do everyday in order to form a sequence of actions. By attaching the actions that you want to form into a habit to an existing habit, when the existing habit is triggered, a process will be activated, eventually leading you to perform the action that you want to make into a habit.
For example, let’s say you want to do some sort of workout each day. Since you shower everyday, you can make it a habit to do a quick workout every time before you shower. If you go onto Facebook every day and your goal is to study more, get in the habit of studying right after you finish using Facebook. If you watch TV every day and your goal is to read more, immediately read after you’re done watching your show. If you drink coffee every morning and your goal is to practice a new language, get in the routine of practicing while you’re drinking your coffee.
Experiment with putting the new action before of after the existing habit to see what works best for you.
Put this into action:
1. Write down the daily actions that you need to take in order to reach your goals and commit to taking those actions no matter what for at least a month.
2. Find something you do on a daily basis to attach your actions to.
Note: It’s going to be easy at first since your motivation will likely be high. After the first week, it may start to get tougher. Once you reach day 30, it’s possible that your actions haven’t become a habit yet. If this is the case, keep going until it does. If you’re taking action towards your goals on a daily basis, it will eventually become habitual or at least easier.

You can have a strong desire and really want to achieve your goal but as I’m sure you’ve experienced, life has its way of knocking us off course. Things come up, distractions occur, the next thing you know, you look at your goals and wonder what the heck happened.
Success takes a lot of focus. I’m sure you’ve had the experience of setting a goal and being really excited about achieving it only to have a few weeks or months to go by and realize the goal have dropped down on your list of priorities.
People often get easily side tracked. Circumstances and situations can nudge you off course. This doesn’t just happen all at once. Often times, you get off track just little by little until one day, you realize you’re completely off track. Keeping your mind focused on your goal can be a constant battle because everything around you is trying to get your attention. Since most people can only focus on so many things at once, it will be your job to keep your goal up high on your priorities list.
So what can you do to keep your focus, to keep your eyes on the prize? There are several things you can try. You can write down your goal and read it each morning and night. You can visualize achieving your goals daily. You can make sure that your daily to-do list includes doing something that will take you closer to your goal. You can buy some motivational posters and stick them on your walls. You can find a friend who has a similar goal and work to keep each other on track.
One of my favorite methods of keeping focused on a goal is to constantly ask myself, “Is what I’m doing right now bringing me closer to my goal or further away?” Once you answer that question, you’ll know what to do.
The common theme in all of these ways to keep your focus is to constantly keep your goal on your mind. Making an effort to stay focused on your goal is a lot easier if it’s a major goal that you have an intense desire to achieve.
Now because staying focused on one major goal is hard enough, you may want to consider sticking to just one goal. If you look back at the goals you’ve tried to achieve and realized you haven’t achieved any of your major goals, it may be time to just focus on a single goal. This way, all of your energy and focus can be put towards obtaining that one goal which will dramatically increase your chances of getting it. It’s a lot better to just achieve 1 major goal then to work on a dozen and achieve none of them.
The final thing I want to say about this reminder of success is that you’re going to have days where you do nothing to get closer to your goals. You’re going to have periods of time where your focus and priorities are elsewhere. When this happens, many people will beat themselves up mentally and quit all together.
Remember that you’re human and because of this, you’ll make some errors in judgment. You’ll get side tracked here and there. Instead of beating yourself up, just be aware that certain things can take your focus away from your goals. Once you’re aware of these things, you can actively reduce the amount of time they take your focus off of your goals.
Distractions are like gravity, it’s constant. It’s going to cause us all to fall every now and then. The important thing is that we bounce back up every time we fall. Get your focus back on your goal when you start to realize it’s drifting somewhere else. The quicker you do it, the better.

There is a huge difference in having an interest in achieving a goal and having a burning desire to achieve a goal. How intense does the desire have to be? It has to be enough to pull you through any obstacles or challenges that can possibly come up.
I’m sure you’ve heard the analogy of how you must want your goal as badly as you want to breathe. If someone held your head under water, you’ll do whatever it takes to be able to breathe. Procrastination is no longer an issue. Motivation is no longer a problem. The desire has become so intense that you will give it all you’ve got to take that breath of air.
Obviously, you don’t need a do or die level of desire to achieve most goals but if you’ve failed to achieve goals due to laziness and lack of action, then your desire just wasn’t strong enough. Now even if you have an intense, burning desire, you may still have moments where your level of desire is weakened.
During these moments, there are many things you can do and here are 2 that could help.
The first is to choose a goal that you can actually be excited about and keep focusing on how life will like when you finally achieve that goal. Choose a goal that is big enough where if you succeeded in obtaining it, your life will never be the same again. The more you want that goal, the less time you will spend trying to motivate yourself to take action.
The second approach is to remind yourself how life would be if you failed to achieve that goal. Think about the pain it would cause you. Think about having to go through another moment of feeling like a complete failure. Basically, think about the consequences of not giving the goal everything you’ve got.
People are motivated in different ways so choose the one that will work best for you. You can also use both approaches as well. When things are going as planned, you can keep that momentum going by visualizing how it will feel at the moment of success. When things aren’t going so great and you feel like giving up, visualize the disappointment you’ll have if you just quit now.
The opposite works as well. For some people, when things go the way they want, they tend to slow down and relax a bit too much so if you do this, you can use the second approach to keep your momentum up. If you’re the type that when things go bad, thinking about failure just makes things worse, use the first approach to pick yourself back up.
The final thing I want to say about this reminder of success is that your level of desire will most likely fluctuate as you get feedback/results from the actions you take towards obtaining your goal. Keeping that desire strong isn’t always an easy thing to do.
There may be times where you will question why you’re putting yourself through all of this. You may wonder if your goal is really worth it. Having a burning desire for a goal doesn’t mean you’re pumped up and excited every time you think about your goal. When you truly have a burning desire for a goal, all it means is that even when it would be so much easier to quit, when taking another step in the direction of your goal is tough, when you just don’t feel like taking action, you keep moving forward anyway because the thought of failing to achieve that goal would be unbearable.
This is why it’s critical that you choose a goal that you have enough desire for where even when things aren’t going so well, you still want to keep pressing on.
When your desire for a goal is weak to begin with, your chances of riding through the tough times will be slim. Think back at the goals that you failed to achieve, how badly did you really want those goals? An easy way to judge your level of desire is by looking at the actions you took or lack of actions.
If someone held your head under water, I’m sure you wouldn’t procrastinate on trying to breathe. You wouldn’t hesitate to spring into action. You wouldn’t just half ass it. You’d go full force. You wouldn’t second guess your ability to grasp that breath of air, your desire is too strong; and you certainly wouldn’t give up trying until you’ve literally given it everything you’ve got.
Attack your goal with just half of this level of desire and you’ll see just how unstoppable you can really be.

Some lose their homes and some lose their love ones. All the tragedy happens this 2011 was in your hands even though our faith was shaken. But you teach us how to be strong and you teach us to stand still.
Beyond those things had happened to us. You are there and we become one. Thank you, for you gave us strength and courage. You made are faith stronger than a mighty sword. Thank you for the love and blessings that you showered upon us.
This coming 2012 we are looking forward for a better world. Cover us with your Holy and precious Blood. Protect us our Dearest Father.
